Dave Fiedler

David Fiedler is the author of The Enemy Among Us: POWs in Missouri During WWII, a compelling history of the 15,000 German and Italian soldiers held in two dozen Missouri camps between 1942 and 1946. For this work, he was awarded the Governor’s Award for the Humanities.

 

In addition to The Enemy Among Us, Dave is the author of My Enemy, My Love, a companion novel set in Missouri that was inspired by this little-known slice of Missouri history. It was the inspiration for a screenplay and a stage production that premiered in 2014.

 

In total, Dave has more than two decades of writing experience, with hundreds of articles to his credit. He has worked as a correspondent for the Associated Press, and his writing has been carried by the New York Times Syndicate and the Wall Street Journal.

 

Dave graduated from Washington University in St. Louis with majors in German and Political Science, and was an officer in the United States Army. He lives in St. Louis.
